The Super Yacht Group – Great Barrier Reef Inc. is a consortium of organisations committed to developing the Super Yacht industry in Cairns and Tropical North Queensland.
We have an executive committee of eight individuals, representing many significant players in the Superyacht Industry here in Cairns. They meet monthly and are responsible for steering the group into a sustainable future.
Our aim is to increase Superyacht visitation into our region for Cruising, Refit and Crew R & R. We participate in International media. We regularly visit our neighbours, Tahiti and New Zealand to sow the seed of what we here can offer. We are also in contact with our international contacts via our International newsletter which also is sent out six times a year.
With an increasing number of vessels arriving in Cairns, the business development opportunities are significant for a range of industries.
The more diverse and comprehensive our membership base becomes, it sends positive signals to the international Superyacht community, that Cairns, our region and our community are pro-active and competent.
Networking Functions
Everyone is encouraged to attend and network.
We intend to hold six networking functions per year.
We have complimentary drinks, and nibbles are provided at a nominal cover charge.
We try and pick interesting venues and at times that are convenient to our Marine Trades and local businesses.
We encourage all businesses to bring along key staff.
General Meetings
All are welcome to attend our General Meetings, designed to fill you in with all the local and international Superyacht news. The meetings are held every two months and have been in lunch breaks and after work for convenience. General meetings are sometimes followed by a networking function.
